The Andrea PureAudio is an external USB sound card that provides all high-fidelity audio input (such as from microphones) and output (such as speakers). It uses a high-speed USB 2.0 interface, with two 3.5mm jacks for mics and speakers _ the green one for speakers, the pink for mics. Both input and output are at 2 channel stereo and has sampling rates of 48 KHz, 44.1 KHz, 16KHz and 8 KHz. Its small form factor also makes it a portable addition for other audio peripherals.

An audio card, commonly known as a sound card, is a computer component that assists the input and output of audio signals. It works by converting electrical signals to audio via a speaker (output), or audio to electrical signals the computer can recognize (input). This is an umbrella term that also applies to external interfaces that provide audio functionality to a system instead of relying on the computer?s hardware itself. It is used for many multimedia pursuits, such as music generation or entertainment, as in movies or games.
