Typical PCI cards used in numerous PCs, or personal computers, include sound cards, network cards, modems, TV tuner cards, extra ports such as USB or serial, and disk controllers. PCI video cards have gradially replaced ISA and VESA cards, until constantly increasing bandwidth requirements outgrew the capabilities of PCI. The accepted interface for video cards became AGP, and then eventually PCIe or PCI Express. PCI video cards, however, remain on hand for use with old PCs that do not have AGP or PCI Express slots.
