The Canon Selphy CP510 is capable of delivering brightly colored prints at a fast speed. 4x8 prints are produced in an average time of 74 seconds, 4x6 prints in 58 seconds, and credit-card sized prints in just 31 seconds. The device also has a compact design that can fit onto any desk. Despite its size, the quality of the printouts is not sacrificed, with the device working off a 300 dpi dye sublimation technique that uses 256 color levels. The Canon Selphy CP510 is a compact printer that provides fast and high quality prints through a process called dye sublimation. This process uses heat to transfer dye onto the material being printed on. Sublimation is applied because of the transition from solid to gas without going through liquid form. This process is often used in producing photographic prints. This is of course different from heat transfer imprinting, which is used to create designs on polyester.
