A dot matrix printer is a kind of printer that is often used with computer or PC setups. It is an impact-type printer, and has a head that works across a sheet of paper for its printing mechanism, striking a ribbon of inked cloth and pushing it against the paper, similar to how a typewriter ribbon produces text on a sheet of paper using its ink ribbon.
