The PreSonus Firebox is an audio recording interface with high quality analog to digital converters with a dynamic range of 110 dB. Some of its main features are its class-A microphone preamps and it’s frequency response which is classified as “ultra wide”. It can record as many as six inputs at the same time and has ten outputs for playback. Additionally, there is a separate headphone output with it’s own volume adjustment knob and a dual-channel driver stream that is usable as a stereo bus. The build quality of the product, characterized by a metal chassis, makes it resistant to impacts and vibrations, adding to its usability.

The device can accomodate four as well as six pin firewire. It is powered either through the Firewire bus (six pin) or externally and works using two analog line inputs and six analog line outputs. The high efficiency audio interface can be attributed to the low latency monitoring of the product, which zeros in on any type of signal delay. The system performs best when used in conjunction with a computer that has a fast processor and a lot of RAM, which can further lower the latency rates. The high speed audio interface supports both recording and playback using two microphone and instrument amplifiers.
