The HP PSC 1200 printer provides color printing, color copying, and color scanning services. The device can print black and white copies at speeds of up to 12 pages per minute (PPM), while the maximum color printing speed attained by it is 10 PPM. It can hold 100 sheets of paper (Letter, legal, exec, A4, A5 and B5 sheets) in its input tray and requires a maximum of 5 watts of power to run. The device does not support duplex printing but supports direct photo printing. Other than plain paper, it can also print cards, envelopes, transparencies and labels. As many as 9 copies of a document can be made using the buttons on the front panel of the printer itself.
In addition to printing and copying, the device can also perform scanning operations. The optical scanning resolution of the product is 600 dots per inch (DPI), however, it can go up to as high as 19,200 DPI if digital enhancements are used. The scanner does not require any time to warm up and can display a scan preview in just 28 seconds. An optical character recognition (OCR) software program is provided with the device, so text can be extracted fom scanned documents in an editable format. In order to extend the life of the scanner bulb, there is a power save mode that turns the bulb off after a certain number of hours of inactivity.AUTHOR
