PowerColor RADEON X300 SE 128MB HyperMemory sports a graphics core with clock speed of 325 MHz, allowing it to render 3D objects and textures used in games and graphics applications. The clock speed of the memory is 400 MHz, and the memory interface is 64-bit. It has a total onboard memory of 128 MB, achieved by using four separate 5 ns, 256 MBit memory chips. The device can be installed in PCI Express slots. It is equipped with one port each for composite video and S-Video inputs, as well as a third port for composite video/S-Video converter. It also ships with an I/O bracket, which allows the d4evice to be installed in a cabinet with a low profile chassis.

The card utilizes HyperMemory technology developed by ATI to use part of the system RAM as frame buffer for rendering objects and textures on screen. This can potentially increase the rendering capabilities of the card to a great extent. For instance, a card with HyperMemory may have only about 128 MB of onboard memory, while it uses 256, or even 512 MB of system RAM as its frame buffer. In this case, the card will perform way over its actual potential, since the RAM will be used to store textures and objects, keeping the smaller onboard memory of the card free for assisting with the rendering.
