WLAN, or Wireless Local Access Network, is a network over a limited area connecting devices _ usually computers _ via a wireless or cable-free method. Aside from connecting computers to each other, it also allows the networked computers access to the Internet. In most cases, it is marketed under the name Wi-Fi and usually provided in malls, cafes, restaurants, and schools as a means for customers and patrons to go online to surf, chat, or send and receive email.
