  • Supports 128-Pin E-Pad TQFP
  • Compatible with IEEE 802.11a/b/g Standards
  • Supports CardBus
  • Supports Wake-On-LAN Function
  • Maximum Data Rate: 54 MBps

The Realtek RTL8185L 54M Wireless LAN Network Adapter is fully compatible with IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) 802.11a/b/g standards. It is a low-profile, cost-effective, and highly integrated wireless LAN (WLAN) interface controller which integrates a WLAN MAC (Media Access Control) as well as DSSS (Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum) baseband processor in one chip. This product supports SIFS (Short InterFrame Space) burst mode for sending packets, which helps in reduction of protocol overhead. Besides, this card also supports jumbo frames, Wake-On-LAN (WOL) function and CardBus. It has a protection mechanism that helps in preventing collisions among different 802.11b nodes.

This product makes use of a number of modulation techniques such as DSSS (Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum), CCK (Code Keying) as well as OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) for supporting all the data rates (IEEE 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g). This product also supports DBPSK (Differential phase shift keying) and DQPSK (Differential Quadrature Phase Shift Keying) schemes. These schemes along with code keying enables data rates of 1, 2, 5.5, and 11 MBps. One of the most prominent features of this Wireless LAN Network Adapter is Realtek Turbo Mode. When the adapter is turned to this mode, it is able to offer data speeds as high as 72 MBps.
