The Wireless Embedded Card Model 0504 is available in items such as the Realtek RTL8191SE. It is a Multiple In, Multiple Out (MIMO) Wireless LAN that provides excellent performance when it comes to throughput. Features include one spatial stream transmission and two spatial stream receptions. It is compatible with IEEE 802.11n and backward compatible with IEEE 802.11b and IEEE 802.11g. Its fastest data transmission rate runs at 54 Mbps in 802.11g and 300Mbps in 802.11n. It allows 20MHz and 40MHz bandwidth transmission.

WLAN stands for wireless local area network. It is usually marketed under the Wi-Fi brand name. It allows computers, laptops and phones to be connected to the Internet without the use of cables. Of course, these devices should first be Wi-Fi capable and they should be within the range of the WLAN. Wi-Fi signals can reach far and wide, especially if there are no obstructions in between the device and the antenna that transmits the signal.
