Description The HP DeskJet 1200 and 1220 printer driver package will work under most Windows 2000 or XP and installs version 3.0 of the PCL5e, PCL6, PS Driver bundle onto your system (Windows 95/98/Me users, see above).
Instructions from HP Double click on the file. This will extract all the driver files into a directory on your hard drive. The directory these files are extracted to will have a similar name to the file that was downloaded (i.e., c:\lj987). However, you can change the path and directory name at the time of extracting the file.
For a new installation of the printer:- Use the Add Printer Wizard feature to install the driver. Click Start, Settings, and Printers (or Printers and Faxes) to access the Add Printer Wizard.
- Make sure the port selected for the 1200, 1220 and 3200 is DOT4_00X (where X corresponds to the port number) when connecting parallel or USB. The DOT4 selection is made available by selecting Other in this list of available connection types.
To update an existing printer driver:- Open the Printer Window (Click Start-Settings-Printers or Printers and Faxes)
- Right click on the printer and select Properties from the pop menu.
- On the General tab, select New Driver.
- Click on the Warning Box that pops up.
- A printer listing box will appear. Select Have Disk.
- Another box Install from Disk appears.
- Click the Browse to locate the expanded files directory (i.e., c:\lj206).
- Click on the file ending with .inf .
- Click Open and then Okay and let files install.
