Description This download contains the IDE Bus Master drivers for VIA Bus Master IDE chipsets VT82C580VP or later (the VT82C580VP chip was released in 1996, so the driver works with most of VIA's chips). In case you are wondering, a Bus Master is responsible for directing data transfer between the CPU and other devices (also called I/O devices). This permits data to move between different parts of the PC without impacting the CPU. In other words, a Bus Master can help improve performance of your system, particularly if it is slow/old.
