This download is the latest driver package released for the HP DeskJet 5550 printer. The driver package will work under most Windows systems (see above) and installs version 7.1 onto your system. This driver is designed for use on computers that will be directly connected to the printer from the computer through a USB or parallel cable (note: Windows 95 only supports parallel cable setups).
Important: according to HP, the printer’s cable (USB or Parallel) must be unplugged before installing the software.
